Research Award 2026 to Torild Skrivarhaug

Professor and senior consultant Torild Skrivarhaug has been awarded the Norwegian Diabetes Association’s Research Prize 2026, worth NOK 100,000. The award was presented during the 20th anniversary of the Norwegian Childhood Diabetes Registry on May 28.

Skrivarhaug is head of the Norwegian Childhood Diabetes Registry and has played a key role in advancing research and improving care for children and adolescents with diabetes over several decades. Her work has contributed significantly to Norway’s position among the leading countries internationally.

She is also a member of the Steering Committee at Oslo Diabetes Research Centre and principal investigator on several projects, including studies based on the Childhood Diabetes Registry, international comparisons of pediatric diabetes registries, and early-life risk factors for type 1 diabetes.

“This award is also a recognition of the Norwegian Childhood Diabetes Registry and the important work carried out in pediatric departments across Norway,” she said.
