Mechanisms for late complications in diabetes; Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) in atherosclerosis. Measurement of serum levels of different AGEs as possible predictors of future cardiovascular events in populations. Proteins modified by advanced glycation as mediators in the atherosclerotic process.
