The Norwegian Childhood Diabetes Registry – Annual Report 2013

 

The Norwegian Childhood Diabetes Registry (NCDR) is a prospective, population-based, nationwide registry which systematically register all incident cases of childhood diabetes, and systematically monitors the outcome of diabetes care in children and adolescents. The goals of the NCDR are the following: surveillance of incidence of diabetes in children and adolescent in Norway, to improve the diagnostics and classification of the disease, to improve treatment, surveillance of acute and late complications, to maintain and further develop a network for quality work among paediatric departments to ensure an equal treatment in Norway, and to stimulate research in diabetes.
