IMARS in Nancy, France

The 11th International Symposium on the Maillard Reaction , IMARS, was held in Nancy, France in September. Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Louis Camille Maillard’s discovery of the reaction responsible for the browning of baked foods and possibly an important process in aging and disease.

Most of the prominent authors in the field of advanced glycation in recent years were present. Accordingly, the meeting had impressive scientific authority, and plenty of network-building opportunities.

Kari Anne Sveen, Martin Heier and Kristian F. Hanssen represented Oslo Diabetes Research Centre.

Mrs. Sveen held an oral presentation with great success, reporting data from her work on the Oslo Study.
